Finding Your Ways to Get Pregnant

By: Uno B. Irawan

Finding ways to get pregnant seems like an easy task, since pregnancy is a natural phenomena created by The Almighty to maintain the existence of the human race. The majority of couples around the world find that getting pregnant is a reasonable consequence of getting married which just happened after having sex.

As a matter of fact, many women can get pregnant easily and naturally. No extra effort is needed for them to get pregnant. Many women got pregnant beyond expectation even by using contraceptives to control birth. Many families have more than 2 children which in some countries become a serious social problem and source of poverty.

At the other side of the coin, there are lots of women who strive to get pregnant, and try hard to find a way to make their wish come true. And you may be one of them. May be you started wondering when after several months after your marriage you are still do not feel any early symptoms of pregnancy, while you are expecting this to happen very much.

For some women, getting pregnant is like making a long journey on a long road with so many obstacles. The journey starts directly after a marriage. And at some distance, still close from the starting point, the very classical questions arise: "Are you pregnant already?" "When will you have your baby?"... and so on.

It seems normal in the beginning, but after a period of time such question becomes annoying and is more likely to make you worried and distress. Unfortunately, these are good reasons for not getting pregnant. The more the stress, it becomes less likely that you will get pregnant.

You will hear comments, the good and the worse, or get helpful advices, or even stories of successful pregnancy of your friends or relatives of your age. You may encounter people facing the same problem like yours, who may be starting to give up and are trying to let it go. Do not get influenced by such de-motivating attitude. It is best to keep your spirit. High spirit and motivation is one of the ways to success. I am sure you will agree to that.

You then start to get some help or gather information on what is probably going wrong. And you will do everything to make your dream into reality. You may be seeing an obstetrician and follow all the advice without any objection, dieting, exercising, no smoking, no drinking, regular sexing, got enough rest, take supplements, you name it. But still, no signs of an expected pregnancy.

Your obstetrician has probably found something wrong in your body, but it was treated successfully. How about possible abnormalities in your reproduction system or organs? Is there any sign or symptoms to indicate that you suffer from endometriosis or polycystic ovarian syndrome? What about genetic factors, family history of not having a child and what were the reasons to this? If your answer is that nothing is wrong, everything is okay, and then your worries mounts and you may start feeling desperate.

Why Can’t I Get Pregnant? – 10 Reasons Why You Can’t

By: Uno B. Irawan

Why can’t I get pregnant? Well, I can you give you at least 10 common reason to answer that question. I also hope that the above question isn’t reflecting a feeling of being desperate probably after along struggle to get pregnant and no result yet. There is always a chance and a correct way to get there. It is a matter of time.

Reason #1 – Insufficient sex

You may be included in the group of young working and active couples which are too occupied by your personal daily activities and focusing on your career. You may be trapped into a situation where you are too tired and get out the mood to have sex. If you have sex once a week, it seems not to be enough.

Reason #2 – Wrong times for Sex

You probably are not aware that the best time to have sex is when your ovulation occurs. At this stage your egg (ovum) is ready to meet the winning spermatozoa of your spouse and gets fertilized. Try to have a sex session a week before and after your ovulation, every other day will be perfect.

Reason #3 – Smoking Habit

Are you aware that a cigarette contains around 4.000 dangerous substances that are considered as carcinogenics (causing cancer)? Smoking tends to reduce your fertility and can endanger your coming baby. Try hard to stop smoking. Besides, at the male part, smoking will definitely lower his sperm count.

Reason #4 – Drinking Alcohol

If you or your partner drinks more than four units in a week then you may be considered as a alcoholic. This habit may reduce the probability to get pregnant by one third. This is because you lose appetite and at the end losing your energy. Please try hard to get you and your spouse back on the right and healthy life track again.

Reason #5 – Imbalanced Diet

A balanced diet doesn’t always mean to cut out all your favorite foods and applying a strict eating schedule, but it could be simply eating food in a moderate way and quantity, no overdoing. Additional vitamins, minerals and food supplements will support your healthy pregnancy. Reason #6 – Uncontrolled Weight

Are you in the group of obesity or overweight? Bringing your weight to its normal levels is very important, since overweight decreases the chances to get pregnant. Obesity tends to affect the menstrual cycle which becomes irregular and unpredictable.

It is the same with underweight where there is a tendency of poor appetite which may cause insufficiency in energy needed to support a normal pregnancy. Consult your doctor to help you controlling your weight.

Reason #7 – Too much caffeine

Drinking a cup of coffee or tea daily will be okay. But don’t have more than that. Caffeine tends to decrease fertility in women and lowering sperm counts in males. Caffeine is also known to cause low birth weight babies and increases the probability of miscarriage. Just play safe, the official maximum daily recommendation by the FDA is 200 mg during pregnancy.

Questioning Tips on How to Get Pregnant With Twins

By: Uno B. Birawan

Getting pregnant with twins is a very special gift to a family. Imagine that you have to double you preparation to welcome your two little babies at once. And of course more attention and care should be provided to the pregnant mother. Getting twins should be a kind of surprise which can be accepted by a couple in different ways.

When the majority of couples accept this precious gift with happiness and cheerfulness, there are other couples who accept this with hesitation and apprehension. There are indeed a lot of factors to be considered as it comes to getting pregnant with twins and raising two children at the same time.

The two most important factors are physical health and financial ability. You could face a higher risk and probability of complications such as premature birth and preeclampsia. You may also imagine that your spending will almost double when raising a twin which, I think, is the major concern of almost every couple.

However you may be among those couples who want to get pregnant with twins and are trying hard to achieve it. It will not be easy, but still possible. Please understand that are some hereditary factors that may affect your attempt to get twins. Having twins has something to do with your family history of having twins.

Studies have shown that twinning, especially fraternal twinning, has a genetic basis. Fraternal twinning happens when two different eggs (ova) are fertilized by two different sperm cells at the same time to form two zygotes hence fraternal twins are also called dizygotic twins or non-identical twins.

But the key factor for this fraternal twinning to happen, which is the ability to release more than one egg, lies only in the mother. There is no evidence that the father’s factor comes into account in this mechanism. On the other hand, it seems that monozygotic or identical twinning is not influenced by a hereditary factor.

Other believes which is not backed up by authentic studies is saying that having many children will increase the probability to get pregnant with twins of the following pregnancy. Some people will probably tell you that breastfeeding while pregnant can increase the chances to have twins. This theory is backed up by some research which concludes that becoming pregnant while breastfeeding can increase the probability to conceive twins by about nine times higher.

Another idea is to postpone your pregnancy to an older age. It is believed and may be supported by some studies that getting pregnant in your late 30’s will increase the probability to conceive twins. But as we know, getting pregnant in older age is already risky, the more if you have to conceive twins. It is said that ovulation becomes faster at that age. But I doubt it will be successful.

There is also a recommendation based on a study by a reputable institution to increase your Body Mass Index (BMI) to 30 or higher is better, which means that you should be considered as obese. If your BMI is 25 you are already considered as overweight. While you may have the understanding that overweight or obese women are most likely to suffer from infertility, then I may think that this issue should be a clarified.

So the best tip if you want to get pregnant with twins is to consult your doctor or obstetrician. He or she will provide you with the best reliable information on this issue. And you can clarify the above issues as well.

Common Causes of Female Infertility

By: Uno B. Irawan

Since infertility is strongly related to the reproductive system of men and women, let us start with the understanding on how our reproductive system works. This time we will focus on the female reproductive system. Two vital organs included in a woman’s system are the uterus and ovaries. Ovary is the organ that produces the egg cells or ova and is under the control of the pituitary gland which produces some hormones.

The pituitary hormones include the FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone). The first will stimulate the formation of follicles in the ovary while the second hormone controls the release of an egg from the ovary. The release of an egg is called ovulation. The moment soon after ovulation is considered as the best time for the egg to get fertilized for further development.

The released egg will be captured by the fallopian tube where it travels along and eventually get fertilized by a champion sperm cell. The fertilization process by a sperm cell with an egg cell is called conception. After this conception the fertilized egg travels back to the uterus and implants itself in the inner lining of the uterus or endometrium, where it then develops to become a zygote which is the very basic form of a new human being.

Further normal development depends on several things. First is should be supported by a healthy and hygienic vaginal and uterus environment. Second the egg should be fertilized by healthy and quality sperm and also supported by a healthy and hygienic condition of the male sex organ. Those are vital requirements that you should attend to if you wish to have a normal pregnancy.

Thus infertility can happen due to a certain dysfunction or abnormalities at any route part of the egg. There can be a hormonal imbalance, blockage in the fallopian tube or uterus, frozen pelvis as well as an abnormal cell growth of the reproductive organs. Let us review some of the most common infertility causes.

Ovulation disorders

Any disorder at the hypothalamic-pituitary gland will cause some degree of hormonal imbalance. Even a slight imbalance of FSH and LH will trigger un-ovulation, which is a condition where the eggs are not released by the ovary. Some medication can also inhibit the ovulation process.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

This is also causes by hormonal imbalance. This is due to the over-production of androgenic hormones. An excessive amount of androgenic hormone will trigger the formation of false follicles without the formation of eggs. PCOS has some relation with obesity and insulin resistance.

Prolactin elevation

This is a condition indicated by an increase amount of prolactin hormone in your blood hence also called hyperprolactinemia. Prolactin stimulates the production of breast milk. Elevated prolactin in the blood is an indication of the presence of tumor in the pituitary gland.

Fallopian tube obstruction or damage

Stress Management to Induce Fertility

By: Uno B. Irawan

Stress is one factor which has a strong correlation with fertility and the ability to get pregnant. Stress and fertility are two things that influence each other. Studies are still carried out to determine which comes first, whether stress is causing infertility or the other way around, infertility is one among the causes of stress. Understanding stress

Fertility experts agree that stress is one of the factors that can decrease the chances of getting pregnant, thus it should be managed properly. It is a reality that there are many things around us that can cause stress. These things that can cause stress are called stressors.

Stressors are elements in our daily life which can be related to subjects like marriage, parental problems, interpersonal relationships, occupation, environments, financial, legal, life-cycle changes, ailments and traumatic experiences.

Stress appears when somebody is not able to adapt to the requirements and challenge she or he has to face. In other words, stress may rise due to the imbalance between life demands and the ability to meet them. Everyone experience a degree of stress. Some are able to manage stress very well, but others may show both physical and psychological symptoms.

Managing stress is by the means of improving one's immunity against stress. Here are some tips on how to improve body immunity so that you will be more resistant against stress and able to cope with environmental changes and increasing demands. This will eventually help you to successfully implement your pregnancy plan.

#1 - Implement good eating habits

Choose healthy food. This includes a sufficient amount of food and balanced calorie between carbohydrate, fat and protein to avoid obesity or under weight. Do not over eat and stop eating before you feel enough. Get used to eat warm food, since cold food may decrease body immunity against infection. Eat regularly, schedule it in the morning, afternoon and at night and do not be late.

#2 - Sleep well

Sleeping is the best natural remedy for the recovery of physical and mental fatigue, and is one of the basic requirements in our life. So, sleep regularly, about 7 - 8 hours at night every day or for at least 4 days in a week. This is to maintain your body immunity. Sleeping for 3 - 4 hours or less every night will cause the drop of your immunity and you can be easily susceptible to stress. Remember the old phrase: "Early to bed, early to rise will make a man healthy, wealthy and wise".

#3 - Exercise regularly

Everybody knows that exercising will keep you healthy. But it needs a strong will and discipline to exercise regularly. You can exercise at no cost by walking or jogging at your neighborhood, or do some simple aerobics. Exercising about 10 - 15 minutes every day or at least twice a week will be sufficient or until you sweat. Take a warm bath after exercising. Remember this Greek saying, "Men sano in corpore sano" which means "In a healthy body lies a healthy mind"

Stress Management to Induce Fertility

By: Rosaura Hinojosa

Nowadays, women have a lot of contraception options available that are user friendly and effective. If you are looking for a convenient and temporary contraception method, the diaphragm birth control can be the perfect choice for you.

What is the Diaphragm?

The diaphragm is a rubber cup, like a dish, that is filled with a spermicidal gel or cream and inserted into the vagina. This cup has a flexible rim that fits within the vagina and covers the cervix. The diaphragm and the spermicidal prevent sperms to enter the uterus.

There are different sizes of diaphragms, so you have to ask your doctor to recommend you the appropriate size for your cervix.

How to use the Diaphragm for birth control?

You can put the diaphragm up to six hours before sex. Before insert it into the vagina you have to fill the diaphragm about two-thirds full of spermicidal, and smear a bit around the rim of the diaphragm.

You can insert easily the diaphragm in different positions: while you are lying down, squatting or standing with one leg up on a chair.

With one hand fold the diaphragm in half with the dome pointing down. With the other hand separate the lips of the vagina. Put the diaphragm into your vagina and push it as far as it will go. Use one finger to push the front rim of the diaphragm up behind your pubic bone.

You may have to practice how to insert it twice or three times before feeling comfortable.

After having sex, leave the diaphragm for about 6 hours and then take it out. If you have sex again before 6 hours, put more spermicidal into your vagina, but do not pull out the diaphragm. Do not leave the diaphragm more than 24 hours; it can cause some infection or irritation.

After taking the diaphragm out, wash it with mild soap and store it in its container. The diaphragm can last even until two years. You have to check regularly with your doctor in order to make sure the diaphragm still makes a perfect fit into your vagina.

How effective is the Diaphragm for birth control?

The diaphragm is 91 % effective if it is inserted correctly. Otherwise there could be 20% chances of getting pregnant.

What are the benefits of using the Diaphragm for birth control?
  •     The diaphragm has almost no health risks.
  •     The diaphragm is one of the best types of birth control and it is as effective as the contraception pill.
  •     There is no interruption during sex because it can be inserted up to 6 hours before intercourse.

What are the disadvantages of using the Diaphragm for birth control?

Some women may have mild allergic reactions to rubber and spermicidal.
Some women do not feel comfortable to insert objects into their vagina.

Best Positions To Maximize Your Chances Of Getting Pregnant Still Popular

By: Suzann Boyden

Finding the best positions for getting pregnant is not the ideal way to conceive, but it could contribute to the solution. This is just one among several methods including the use of herbal remedies and fertility supplements women have used when trying to fall pregnant. Notwithstanding a lack of scientific research to link conception with sex positions, many believe it can increase the chances to fall pregnant

Typically one of the best positions for getting pregnant preferred by lovers wanting to have a infant is the missionary one, in which the male is upon the woman. It facilitates the greatest sexual penetration which facilitates ejaculation towards the cervix. With this a man's semen gets a better opportunity to fertilize the feminine egg cell without delay.

The second most liked position is the rear-entry or the doggy-style. Here the male enters the woman from behind, which also makes for deeper penetration. Again, the idea is to have sperm left as close as possible to the cervix. Many people suggest that after intercourse, a woman should remain in bed for about 15 minutes to half an hour to keep the sperm as stationary as possible in the area close to the cervix.

There is also the question of what are not the best positions for getting pregnant during intercourse. Some suggest that during love-making women should not straddle the male. This may result in the sperm not moving in the direction of the cervix where it needs to be to bring about conception. So women ought to avoid upright postures like sitting or standing for purposes of falling pregnant.

To become pregnant women would need to be especially informed about ovulation patterns. However, it is usually not essential to enjoy sexual activity while ovulating with the aim of creating a child. It is not going to inevitably improve the probability of pregnancy. Ideally every second night about the period of ovulation can help in raising the prospects of getting pregnant.

During intercourse, expectant parents need not to focus on sexual activity as a method for impregnating the woman. Forget about getting a child then, and in its place stick with the flow of the fun and enjoyment involved. Fears related to pregnancy are prone to take something away from the actual pleasure of the moment, and may make conceiving difficult to realize.

Conceivably energized and spirited love-making might help accomplishing this, apart from wondering about the best positions for getting pregnant. Thus it is is troublesome for couples to enjoy sex if the mind and body happen to be exhausted ahead of the activity. It likewise is practical to look at positions which do not cause physical anguish. For what is the purpose of conceiving a child inside a figure with torn or ruined arms or legs.

To reiterate, remember the rule for the best positions for getting pregnant consist of those that attempt to get the male sperm close to the cervix. Women that plan to conceive could use fertility drugs as a complement to the endeavor. In general, it might make conception a greater prospect if an anticipating woman lives a rather stress less lifestyle, and sticking to a nourishing diet.

Baby Blankets

By: Jane Hull

When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I rushed out, as all Mums do, to get all the equipment that you are told you will need. When my daughter was born, I quickly discovered that the baby blankets and snowsuit I had bought were not the answer to getting out of the house easily.

Snowsuits take an age to get on to a baby, with tiny arms and legs. You finally get you and your baby ready to go out, only to find out that minutes later the car has warmed up, or you go into a warm shop and need to take the suit of the baby as it is too warm. I quickly gave up on the idea of snowsuits and decided to just use baby blankets.

This idea wasn’t much of an improvement, it was much easier to get out quickly but I found that in order to stop the baby blankets from sliding off the buggy; you have to tuck them down the sides of the baby. This, I found, must be repeated every few minutes or the baby will kick the blanket off and it is the dragged under the wheels of the buggy.

I was constantly thinking that other people must have the same problem and there must be a solution. Then one day my friend said you need one of these and pointed at her Morrck Hoodie blanket in her buggy. I didn’t really understand what it was, but being a forthright friend I didn’t argue with her.

It turned out that Morrck was a local company and had invented a product that solved all of the problems that I had experienced with the snowsuit and baby blankets.

Morrck design baby blankets which fit into the buggy or car seat and have holes in them to let the straps through. They have an inbuilt hood and wrap around the baby. The hoodie can be wrapped and unwrapped without disturbing the baby, which is great if they are asleep. Because it goes under the baby, it can’t be kicked off or slip down.

It is also much safer because the baby does not have too much on underneath the straps in a car seat, the straps fit the baby and not the clothing.

It solved all the problems I had experienced with standard baby blankets and snowsuits, I recommended it to all my friends and they all love it too!!

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

Couples can still increase their odds by having frequent sex.

A simple kit may be picked up at a drug store. A kit can help a couple find out when ovulation is going to occur. The kits work by providing the woman with a few urine tests. These tests are used in the morning to urinate on. The chances of getting pregnant after 40 may help a woman decide how hard they are going to try for a baby.

Sex should happen during that window of opportunity. The time frame that is allowed may be anywhere from that particular day to a few days later. The chances of getting pregnant after 40 could be based on how hard a couple try for a baby. Each month should be planned out carefully using special monitoring systems to plan out ovulation.

It is important to not go too long between sex. There needs to be the perfect amount of relations in order to keep the supply of sperm fresh and healthy. Sex too rare can weaken the quality, however too much of it could also weaken the supply.

People who want to increase the chances of getting pregnant after 40, may try having frequent sex during the month. If a kit is not picked up, then couples will need to use other methods to determine when a person is ovulating.

There could be some positions that are used to increase the effects of the sperm. The legs and feet could be elevated and after sex, a woman could keep her legs high in an effort to keep the flow of sperm heading downward. Using gravity to help out with the swimming sperm, could increase the chances of a successful pregnancy.

Finding the chances of getting pregnant after 40 and knowing what they are, could help people in their efforts to try. There are special kits that may be bought as well as fertility treatment to try if needed. There could be different ways that a couple could go about conceiving a child. These methods could include medical ways or natural methods. The chances of getting pregnant after 40 just may assist someone with their planning. The more planning that is done, the more effective baby making could be.

Things To Avoid That Can Lower Your Chances Of Getting Pregnant

By: Suzann Boyden

Wanting to have a baby and failing to conceive can be devastating for many people and they will go to great lengths to find out about things to avoid when trying to get pregnant. Possibly one major non-physical problem that has a great bearing on trying to have a baby is stress. The whole situation is fraught with stress and the more couples are told to relax and avoid stress the more they will experience tension and anxiety.

It is a sad fact that one in six couples will not be able to conceive easily on their own and may have to resort to extreme measures in their efforts to do so. Even after doing everything right they can find that their chances of having a baby are still only around a paltry twenty-five percent. If after a year of not having any success whilst trying on their own they may want to seek advice and assistance from a doctor specializing in fertility treatments.

Often the sheer clinical approach of fertility charts thermometers and having to have sex according to one's body clock can be a great deterrent to gay abandoned sex. There are numerous medical treatments and positive procedures to follow with regard of what to avoid when trying to get pregnant.

The specialist will require a number of tests to establish if both partners are healthy and do not have any other medical ailment that may be causing the problem. The female ovarian production and ovulation cycle will need to be checked and the male's sperm count and scrotum will also be examined.

Well balanced healthy diet with regular exercise is recommended for the male and if he is a smoker he may be advised to stop smoking as it has a negative effect on sperm quality. Recreational drugs and contact with toxic chemicals and other toxins are to be avoided at all costs.

The man should avoid wearing tight clothing and taking hot baths or saunas as excessive heat also has a detrimental influence on the testes and sperm. Women may want to deter from any vaginal douches after sex as the chemicals in the wash may also have an effect on the sperm.

A complete healthier diet free of large quantities of vitamin A C and D alcohol and caffeine is recommended for both parties. Raw uncooked protein such as meat and eggs and soft cheeses are considered risky and should be removed from the diet. Echinacea and St John's Wort are two of the herbs considered best avoided but in order to err on the right side doctors often suggest that people stop using all herbs in their food.

Activities that should be treated with caution are running and any extreme sports. Medication in any form either for pain or chronic should all be checked out with a person's doctor before one continues taking them.

Genetic Carrier Screening: Is It Right for Me?

By: Jennifer Saucier

If you are pregnant, or are considering becoming pregnant, there are many tests available to you that can help determine your chances of having a healthy child. One such test is known as genetic carrier screening, which determines whether both you and your partner have mutations in the same gene or genes. Having mutations in the same gene would put you at risk of having children with a specific recessively inherited genetic disorder. Common recessive genetic disorders include cystic fibrosis, Tay-Sachs disease, sickle cell anemia and spinal muscular atrophy. Genetic carrier screening is not a mandatory test. If you choose to undergo genetic carrier screening, it is important that you understand both the risks and benefits of this kind of testing before having your blood drawn. Here are some points to consider when making your decision:

  •     What is genetic carrier screening?
  •     What does this mean to you?
  •     Who should consider genetic carrier screening?
  •     When should genetic carrier screening be performed?
  •     What are your options if you are found to be a carrier?
  •     How can you decide if genetic carrier screening is right for you?

Genetic carrier screening (GCS) is a test performed on a blood or saliva sample that determines whether a healthy person is a carrier for one or more genetic disorders. A carrier is someone who has a mutation in one gene of a pair. Carriers are typically healthy, because the other copy of that gene works normally. A person who has two non-working copies of a gene (i.e. mutations in both copies) will be affected by a recessive genetic disorder.

What does this mean to you?

If both you and your partner are carriers for the same genetic disorder, you have a 25% chance (with each pregnancy) of having an affected child. While all people carry a small number of recessive gene mutations, it is only when both parents carry a mutation in the same gene that they are at risk for the disorder to occur in their children. Most people only become aware that they are carriers after having a child with a genetic disorder - or by having GCS. Recent advances in technology now allow for GCS to be performed for many genetic disorders at one time for a relatively low cost. This testing may be called by any number of names, including 'multi-disease genetic carrier screening panel', 'universal genetic carrier screening', or 'all-in-one genetic carrier screening'.

Who should consider GCS?

Anyone planning a pregnancy can choose to have GCS. In the past, genetic carrier screening was only offered to individuals with a family history of a genetic disorder or to people at risk for specific genetic conditions based on their race or ethnicity. Most racial/ethnic groups have one or two conditions that occur more commonly within their populations. For example, cystic fibrosis is relatively common in the Caucasian population, and Tay-Sachs occurs more frequently in the Ashkenazi Jewish population. Now, with the advent of the multi-disease GCS panels mentioned in the section above, anyone who wants additional information about their reproductive risks can request carrier testing, regardless of family history or racial/ethnic background. The information you learn from genetic carrier screening can help guide your reproductive decisions, but the test cannot change your carrier status.

Gene Security Network offers preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) for couples at risk to have children with specific genetic disorders. For more information about genetic carrier screening or PGD, please visit our website at Genetic Carrier Screening at GSN.

Baby Hoodie

By: Emily Jane

A modern and fashionable blanket for babies is a baby hoodie. These can be made of jersey fleece material, with an extra section which covers the babies head. This can also be reversed to make a slight cushion. These hoodies make your baby look very cute and snuggled, but most importantly, keeps them warm and safe.

Baby hoodies can be classed as jumpers with hoods on the back, as well as jackets and puffers. These come in all sorted of fabrics, colours and patterns. Some companies even do embroidery to personalise names or even print pictures on them.

The baby hoodie was invented by Isobel Thompson, mainly because she had twins and they were great for popping in and out of the house without any fuss. These hoodies are designed to go in car seats, buggies, and basically anything else with a harness. The idea is to leave your baby hoodie in the seat or pram, when it’s time to leave the house, pop the baby/ child in the seat or pram and wrap them up! Using these baby hoodies in the car seat makes it a lot safer when strapping the child in because you are strapping them in and not the snow suit or puffer jacket. This is demonstrated on the Morrck website, so please check it out!

I recently bought my friend a baby hoodie, she was moving to Australia, so I thought it would be useful to have for her little girl, for the cold winter months. She sent me a message the other day, expressing how useful the baby blanket had been on the airplane. She emphasised how great it was to go in the buggy and then to bring with her onto the plane. Luckily it’s just coming into the Australian summer now, so she won’t need it so much.

I also bought a baby hoodie for another friend who had a baby boy, she was so pleased with it and her baby Theo, spends all the time wrapped up in it. She said how wonderful it was, she doesn’t have to muck about with a coat or jacket to keep him warm when she ventures out and about! She said that so many people had commented on it, asking her where she can get one from.

As well as the baby hoodie, Isobel also invented the Morrck wraptures, beach wraps and the new funky coloured hats and matching scarves. She has created a wonderful variety of products designed for all children’s ages and is just about to introduce a new colour scheme and the new waterproof wrapture. Beach wraps were the latest product introduced in the Summer. The beach wrapture is made of beach towel which has poppers at the front, and in true Morrck style, not forgetting the hood! Obviously as your child grows up, Morrck grows with them, they have products from newborn up to age 5+. These sizes come in size 1, 2 and a selected line in size 3.

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

Child Custody Cases - The Basics

By: Kerry Graves

Child custody cases can be heart wrenching and volatile. Hiring a private investigator to assist your case can mean the difference in gaining sole custody of your child and losing all custody of your child. Most often, both parents have the same goal in mind - find a solution that will be good for the children involved. However, there are some situations in which one parents only wants to prolong the case to hurt the other parent. Child custody can take many forms, from sole physical custody to third-party custody. There are a few main forms of child custody:

• Sole Custody: This arrangement grants one parent the physical and legal custody of the child.

• Joint Custody: This form grants custody of the child to both parents, and both parents are considered custodial parents. This form of custody has two subtypes - joint physical custody and joint legal custody. In joint physical custody, both parents share the lodging and care of the child according to a schedule. Joint legal custody grants both parents the ability to access their children's records.

• Split Custody: This arrangement splits the involved children between the parents. One parent is granted custody of certain children, while the other parent receives custody of the remaining children. This solution prevents children from having to constantly travel between parents' homes, and can split up children that do not get along. This form of custody is also criticized for splitting up children that may need each other for emotional support.

• Alternating Custody: This form of custody is similar to joint custody, but is primarily used when the parents live far away from each other. In this form, the children live for a long period of time with one parent, and then live for a similar amount of time with the other parent. While the child is living with one parent, that parent has sole legal authority of the children for the length of their visit.

• Third-Party Custody: Sometimes, the court will decide that children should not remain with either of their biological parents. In these cases, custody will be awarded to a third person. This ruling usually comes about either because neither biological parent wants custody of the children, or the biological parents are unable to provide the children with proper care.

• Bird's Nest Custody: In this form of custody, children constantly reside in a house and the parents take turns living there. This places the burden and upheaval of moving on the parents rather than the children.

A private investigator will be able to acquire documents about your opponent that show their lifestyle, income, romantic relationships, criminal history, work history, assets, and more. Facts that are proved to be true can greatly affect the judge's decision regarding the custody of the child involved. While you may think, at first, that a good lawyer is all you'll really need, a good lawyer appreciates having the sort of proof that a private investigator has the time and resources to obtain.

Buggy Accessories

By: Jane Hull

Buggy accessories can make or break the experience you have with your own buggy. When purchasing a buggy, it’s not just the buggy you should look at but more about the accessories that come with it or can be bought for it. Whether it is entertainment for the child, safety accessories, comfort or luxuries, these are all important aspects you should think about, to make it easy and stress free when you’re out and about with your baby.

Buggy accessories range from drinks holders, sleep covers, buggy boards, travel toys, nappy bags, foot muffs, travel blankets, rain covers, changing mats, sun parasol, change bags, hand bag holders and many more. These days there seems to be no end to accessories, either necessities or pure luxury for your baby needs. Buggies are now being made in all sorted of shapes and sizes, suspension, light weight, adjustable handles, easy and compact folding mechanisms. This therefore means that the buggy accessories market has to keep up with the trends and constantly be inventing new and whizzy ways to make it easier for parents to get out and about.

Buggies are becoming more of an accessory and fashion item, with all the fashionable makes and models, patterns and shapes, colour and shades. You can now even match your buggy to your changing mat and changing bag.

When choosing your pushchair, there are 3 things that you need to be aware of, your lifestyle, budget and the child’s needs. Do you do lots of off road walking? Do you go to the shops a lot? Do you use public transport? Size and weight? Adjustable handles? 3 or 4 wheels?

How much do you want to spend? Do you want a package with all the buggy accessories included or would you prefer to accessorise separately as and when you require them? Packages tend to be cheaper than buying everything separate, this is designed for people who are on a budget or just want an easy purchase. Obviously buggy prices range from very little up to a huge amount, these being the designer or well-known brands.

If you have a new born, you must make sure the pushchair goes back into the lying down position. Would you like to be able to adjust the buggy, so you can see your baby? What kind of fabric do you want your buggy made of? Do you need it to be waterproof?

These are all majorly important decisions that you have to make when buying a buggy. It seems crazy that you should have to think about all these aspects, but believe me, they all make a difference to giving you a comfortable lifestyle with your baby.

So in summary, make sure you do lots of research before your baby comes along. Planning is the most important part, everything else will just fall into place and feels natural. Buggy accessories are such important purchases, designed to make it easy and safe for you to get out and about with your baby.

Personal Care Products Suited For Pregnant Women

By: Gigi Montola

Women are especially vulnerable during pregnancy and that is why they must take extra care of their bodies during that period of time and up until they are nursing. It is not enough that a pregnant woman stays away from alcohol or smoking, everything that has to do with her body such as eating or even proper personal care habits must be watched vigilantly as it may affect the baby.

In terms of using personal care products, a pregnant woman must place careful scrutiny over the items she chooses for the wrong personal care products might contain substances that could be harmful to her and to the baby as an after-effect. To help mothers-to-be out there who have no idea what personal care products to choose and what they should avoid and what they should look for in a product, here is a break-down of the most commonly used items by pregnant women and the substances they should and shouldn't contain.

1.) Soap - Soaps are the most commonly used product, not just by pregnant women but by everyone so the contents of the soap we use are especially important. We are exposed to it at least 5 times a week and frequent use of the wrong soap can cause harm to your skin-and to the baby for pregnant women. So what should soaps suited for pregnant women contain? Shea Butter, Palm Oil, Coconut Acid and Evening Primrose Oil or Lavender Oil, are good products to be found on a soap- ingredient list. What it shouldn't contain are Isoeugenol, Hydroxycitronellal, D&C Violet 2, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, Coumarin, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate and Benzone derivatives such as Oxybenzone, or Benzophenone-3, Benzyl alcohol, Paraben chemicals and Eugenol as these chemicals are known contributors to cancer, endocrine and organ system toxicity. One should also stay from soaps with added fragrances as they can contribute to skin irritation.

2.) Toothpaste - For something we put into our mouths daily, toothpaste should be especially safe. Contents like Myrrh, Water, Propolis, a Calcium Carbonate Base are good while Papain, Alumina, Propyene Glycol and Methylparaben can cause allergies, neuro and organ system toxicity as well as developmental and reproductive toxicity, which can be really harmful to the baby.

3.) Shampoo - Even shampoos can be harmful so it is good to also watch out for what you wash your hair with. Calcium Oxide, Sunflower Extract, Cinnamon scent, Rosemary Oil, Provitamin B5, Vitamin F, Wheat Proteins and Lemon are safe ingredients while shampoos containing Parabens such as BUTYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, METHYLPARABEN and Benzenes and Acids like Lactic acid, Salicylic Acid and Benzoic Acid are harmful to your hair and general health as they can cause the same health hazards such as cellular and biochemical mutation, developmental and reproductive, organ and neuro toxicity as well as certain cancers.

Careful inspection of an over the counter item's ingredient list is very important whether one is pregnant or not. With this knowledge that you now have on personal care items, you can be sure that you'll be staying away from all the harmful substances you might be putting on your body.

Buying from a credible store also helps prevent items containing suspicious ingredients from getting into your shopping cart. Make sure you are buying from a trust-worthy store before trying out any product.

Personal Care Wholesaler.com is a trusted distributor of over 10,000 of personal care products that come from trusted brands such as Johnson and Johnson, Pfizer, Schering-Plough, and Colgate so you can be sure that the items weren't just concocted in someone's backyard. Baby Stuff

By: Emily Jane

So you have found out you are pregnant, it’s all quite exciting and you can’t wait to go out and buy baby stuff, this has given you a whole new reason to investigate products, go shopping and find bargains. By the time the baby is actually born, you are drowning in equipment and you are not quite sure where to put it, or in some cases what and if you actually need it for. It is only when your baby reaches the age of 4 and the amount of baby stuff you have for your child gradually disappears, that you realise that your house wasn’t that small after all!

Key things to remember when buying baby stuff are that you only actually need to buy a few items for your baby before they are actually born i.e. car seat, so you can bring baby home from hospital and a pram so you can get out and about straight away. Other items are not essential straight away, you can buy them after the baby is born or even several months later.

Highchairs are not needed for a few months, you may want to wait and decide how and where you will use the highchair. I bought a travel highchair for my baby, which fixes to a normal dining chair. It wasn’t very expensive and it doesn’t take up anymore room than a chair. Because I went to stay with friends and family regularly, I was easily able to fold it up and take it with me.

Another item you may not need straight away is a cot, if you are using a Moses basket when the baby is first born. You can then decide if a cot or cot bed suits you best, a cot is great for smaller spaces but you will need to move them to a bed when they become to big. A cot bed is larger, but converts into a bed when needed so will last much longer

Lots of my friends have recommended fantastic products they found useful for their babies, some of them I knew I would find useful, but some just didn’t fit in with the way I lived. It is great to see or hear about a product before you buy, then you have an idea as to whether you would be wasting your money. You might find it useful to join baby forums or read reviews from parents who have actually used products. Most people I know never used their baby bath or only used it once, they wished that someone had told them not to buy one

Another advantage of giving yourself time and not filling your whole house with baby stuff, is that friends and family have an opportunity to buy or contribute to items for your baby. This way you can get presents that you really want and that are useful to you.

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

Easy Guide To Stay Healthy During Pregnancy

By: Roberto Sedycias

Taking care of yourself when you are carrying a child is of the utmost importance, particularly because you are in charge of the life of a whole other person. You need to make sure that you eat well and fill your system with all of the essential vitamins and minerals that are important for your baby's health and wellbeing. You need to make sure you have a proper intake of leafy greens and other vegetables so that your unborn child gets calcium, protein, and other vitamins that are essential for growth and development of the physical body as well as the budding brain.

Also you need to make sure you drink an abundance of milk or a replacement of milk if you are allergic so that your bones are strong and your baby is strong, and fortified with the proper amount of calcium, as well. That way, you can be sure to have an influx of healthy minerals flowing into your body no matter where you are or what you are doing. Make sure that you take plenty of rest, too, and do not over exert yourself at any point of the pregnancy, particularly in the later months.

Be ready for labor. It helps to take some classes that help with breathing and labor preparation, that help you exercise while carrying the baby and help prepare you with breathing exercises and measures that will really come in handy when the painful contractions begin. It's important to take all your prenatal vitamins, too, and to have regular check ups with the doctor so that no matter what you are well advised about what kinds of things you should eat and consume as well as how to take care of yourself. Talk to your OBGYN, too, so you can choose the best birthing route for you so that when the day comes there will be no surprises as you will already have your plan.

Also, it is good to keep yourself free of stress, as worry and anxiety is not good for the baby. Take a vacation, read great books, watch movies, but whatever you do try not to be too afraid and get the support of your loved ones so that you are not too anxious about the delivery process. Think of the child you are about to bring to the world and let that be the thing that gets you through any of the difficulties of the day.

Staying healthy when you are about to have a baby is extremely important for you and for the baby so that you and your child are guaranteed a safe day of delivery. This is going to be a very special day in your life and you want to meet it at your best and in your best form, giving your baby everything you can possibly give it even before it makes its entrance into the world. You want to make sure it is healthy and has all the nutrients needed to have a healthy start at a great life, one only made possible by your love.

Federal Government amendments relating to de facto relationships

By: Alan Weiss

On 1 March 2009, the Federal Government amendments relating to de facto relationships commenced. How does it affect you?

These amendments bring de facto property settlements onto equal footing with matrimonial settlements. All matters are now covered by the Family Law Act 1975.

This means sweeping changes to the manner in which de facto property settlements are litigated and resolved, but also to what constitutes ‘property’ for de facto couples. This brings to an end the previous, Queensland-based regime under the Property Law Act 1974.

A de facto relationship, is defined in the act as a cohabiting relationship that exists for a period of at least two years (or where the parties have a child). Proceedings must be commenced within two years of the date of separation (leave may be sought by the Court to bring proceedings later than this, but only in extraordinary circumstances).

The Court will look into the circumstances surrounding the relationship to determine the actual commencement of cohabitation and the date of separation.

Under the previous legislation, de facto spouses were not entitled to utilise the Family Court or Federal Magistrates Court with respect to their property disputes, even if they were also disputing parenting arrangements.

This led to a very difficult situation where separating de facto spouses could find themselves litigating property matters in either the Supreme Court of Queensland, or contemporaneously litigating parenting matters before the Family Court.

This anomaly has now been removed and de facto spouses will be litigating all matters before the Family Court.

Formerly separating de facto spouses were not entitled to include superannuation interests as assets in their property settlements. This is because the legislation that allows for superannuation splits, referred only to ‘matrimonial’ matters and that definition did not encompass de facto relationships.

However, now that de facto couples are equal with married spouses in the family law arena, both parties’ superannuation interests will be included in the pool of assets available for distribution between the parties. Your superannuation interests could become subject to a payment flag or splitting order.

However, there are ways to protect yourself both now and in the future. De facto spouses can take full advantage of the Family Law Act provisions relating to Binding Financial Agreements colloquially known as ‘pre-nups’).

Parties can enter into these Agreements prior to the commencement of the cohabitation, during the cohabitation (even if things are happy), and after separation. They can provide protection with respect to potential property settlements and can set out how the asset pool is to be divided upon any separation / eventual separation.

Travel Wrap

By: Jane Hull

Clothing is a real priority for people, styles, fashions and colours, they spend a huge amount of time and money shopping to finding the right item. Practicality is also a really important feature and with all this cold, snowy and wintery weather that we get in the UK, it’s so important to keep wrapped up when braving the outdoors. A travel wrap is a perfect solution to keep you and your kids warm when travelling. They tend to be very versatile, as well as being great for travelling, they can be used for many other events and situations.

Along with a standard coat and travel wrap, snow suits are also really popular with babies and young children in the colder months of year. They are perfect for keeping them all snug and warm, top to toe and are all in one, so you aren’t likely to get chilly anywhere. Although snowsuits are popular, they aren’t always practical because you have to get your children in and out of them, which can prove difficult and time consuming, with little arms and legs, it can make it very complicated to get anywhere. They can also be dangerous if you are using them in car seats, as the fabric is too thick and the straps fit the clothing and not the child.

A travel wrap tends to be made of soft material, usually fleece or cotton and can be used when travelling on long haul flights or just snuggling at home watching the television, reading a book or watching a good movie. One of these could be the perfect gift for Christmas or anniversary for your husband, wife, teenagers or maybe a grandparent or aunt! Items such as Snuggies or Slankets are quite popular at the moment. They are a modern take on a normal blanket that you might use when sitting on the sofa at home, a great blanket replacement! The advantages of using a travel wrap rather than a blanket, is that they are designed in the right shape to cover the whole of the body and have holes for arms and your head, they also have plenty of fabric so you can cover your head, legs and even feet. They could be used for travel, but also for camping, or fireworks night, anytime you need more than a simple coat. Another great idea for a practical and unusual present for a newborn baby or as a Christening present would be the the Morrck travel wrap for babies and children works as a blanket with a hood including holes, most importantly, for the safety straps to go through. This is extremely important when strapping your child into their car seat, as the straps fit right to the child.

Next time you are shopping it is worth looking out for theses versatile blankets and see if you think you or your family could make use of them.

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

Baby Blanket

By: Jane Hull

Years ago the baby blanket was a very simple knitted or crocheted sheet that you lay over a baby when they were in their cot, or pram. Grannies knitted away months before the baby arrived and you found yourself with something no one else had. These days there are so many options for blankets that do the same job but better.

Of course you can still have a simple baby blanket, but made out of so many different materials and colours, fleece, cotton, wool, patchwork, they are quite often very inexpensive and cheaper than the materials that you would need to buy to make one. The other alternative is to look at more shaped options or things that the baby actually wears.

I was recently looking around my local department store and notice the blankets that babies wear that are a bit like sleeping bags, they are such a clever idea because the baby can’t kick them off during the night, but they still have their arms out so they don’t feel too restricted.

The other product I noticed that make a clever alternative for a baby blanket for use in a buggy and pram, are the bags that zip all the way round, it prevents the blanket slipping off and going under the wheels. Even more versatile than that I have seen similar products that fit the buggy, pram or car seat and wrap round and also incorporate a hood. These products can be expensive, but the practical solutions that they offer make them well worth their price and you can always ask for them as gifts from friends and family.

Of course this makes the old baby blanket rather redundant and the Grannies and Aunts that knit and Crochet them redundant also. It seems such a shame but with reusing and recycling becoming the in the thing maybe these skills or different ones will return.

I recently made a huge quantity of bunting for friends wedding; she wanted something she could keep forever instead of flowers that are gone after a week. When I attended the wedding I took all the leftover fabric with me incase of any bunting emergencies. When I mentioned this to another guest, she offered to use them make a patchwork bedspread out of them for the bride and groom when they returned from honeymoon.

With so much fabric left I realised there was an opportunity to use it for so many things that we could give to the couple in the future, for example a baby blanket for their first child or a dress if they had a daughter.

It made me realise that the homemade knitted baby blanket may be a dying breed but maybe there are other skills and crafts that are coming back that will possibly replace it.

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

What do I need for a new baby

By: Jane Hull

When you are expecting a baby, particularly if it is your first, a question which often goes through your mind, what do I need for a new baby? If you have no experience of looking after a baby, it can be quite daunting and also very expensive. It can be also quite difficult to decide when you should buy things, before or after the birth. You don’t want to spend a lot of money on things you may never use.

There are a number of ways you can research the question, what do I need for a new baby, you can ask friends and family that have had babies. You can also research online; you can often find a list of essential baby equipment along with lists of things to take to hospital. The other option is to go to baby stores and look around at what they are selling. Your midwife and antenatal group quite often have advice along with leaflets and literature that they sometimes give out.

When you are thinking, what do I need for a new baby, the answer is that there is not hard and fast rule. There are lots of choices which people make based on their lifestyle, budget and style preferences. Obviously there are essentials like nappies and clothes, but again there are many choices within these areas about the types, for example, nappies can be cloth washable nappies or disposable.

There are many other products which are not essential, but may be helpful, such as a baby carrier. Or a triangular nursing pillow, to help you if you are breast feeding and maybe a breast pump. These are products that you may not want to buy straight away, but they are something to consider when you have had the baby. It is still worth researching theses products, because if you know a bit about them, you will suddenly realise when it is going to be useful. It is always a good idea to do the research before you have the baby, because you probably won’t have the time or energy after you have given birth.

Close friends and family also have the dilemma what do I need for a new baby as a gift, should it be a practical gift or just something nice that they would want to buy. You may like suggest something that they could buy for the baby, or they might have some good suggestions about things you would like or need. You are bound to get some things you don’t like or need, but hopefully you will get a fairly good selection of gifts.

When considering the question, what do I need for a new baby, the best advice generally comes from people who have used products, and you can ask people you know. But it also a good idea to look to parenting forums for reviews, you actually sign up and ask people which brand is best or if they have a suggestion of a product. These are normally very accurate and helpful and you can sometime get discount codes or tips on where to get the product you want cheaper.

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

New Baby

By: Jane Hull

It is such a thrill for most people to hear that someone has had a new baby, even people who don’t know you very well, are excited as it is such a special moment when a new life comes into the world. Everyone wants to share in it which can have its positive’s and negative’s, I remember that when I had my first baby I received gifts from all sorts of people, some of who I didn’t really know!

Life with a new baby can also be a bit daunting, because it is a complete life change and you know your life will never be the same. It doesn’t take long to get used to it and I remember not long after the birth of my children I couldn’t remember them not being in my life and what life was like before them.

One of the things I love best about friends or family having new baby is that you get to go out and buy presents. There is such a huge range of things to buy and although many items can be very practical, baby products have become very fashionable recently, with designer nappy bags and even designer buggies. It is nice to know that just because you are a mum, you don’t have to turn into a frump. There have been lots of celebrity mums over the past few years that have shown that you can be trending when you are pregnant and when you are a mum.

I love to buy nice looking presents, but I also really like being practical. There is absolutely no point in buying a present for a new baby that they have already got, or something that they don’t want. I usually ask the parents if there is something that they would particularly like or need and then I go and choose whatever it is but with an element of what I want to buy. It is also important to treat the mum and siblings if there are any. I quite often buy some nice food for the mum, as they sometimes get forgotten. I remember my sisters came round after I had a baby and emptied the bin for me, I burst into tears because I was so grateful that they had helped me out, I never thought I would be able to empty a bin again myself because I was so tired.

Having a new baby can be so all consuming, stressful and tiring but it can also be very rewarding, make sure you take it slowly, don’t expect too much of yourself and let people help you out . If your friend or family has a new baby, remember to help them in the way they want and try to get them a gift that will be useful or helpful to them.

I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.

Are You Pregnant? The Earliest Pregnancy Signs and Pregnancy Tests

By: Neelima Sen

In some cases, a woman’s intuition; that indefinable thing, may possibly the first thing that alerts a woman to the fact that she is pregnant – that unshakable feeling that something is changing and burgeoning within her. But other than this inexpressible feeling, there are other signs and symptoms of pregnancy that may appear very early on, such as:
• Though missing a period is probably the first definitive sign of a pregnancy, some of the symptoms of pregnancy are ironically a little bit like a period.
• For instance breast tenderness is one of the very early signs of a pregnancy. They may feel swollen and sensitive, even painful rather like some women experience before the start of their monthly period.
• A slight amount of vaginal bleeding or light spotting is seen at the time of implantation of the embryo. This is when the fertilized egg implants into the wall of the uterus and starts to grow and this is also among the first and early signs of pregnancy.
• Unexplained feelings of tiredness can also occur very early in pregnancy as the body undergoes a sea of hormonal change. Some women find that they get really sleepy and need more sleep than usual.
• Many women find that they seem to be on an emotional roller coaster early in their pregnancy – elated one moment and then tearful the next.
• A sudden distaste or oversensitivity for certain tastes and smells early on in pregnancy is supposed to be nature’s way of protecting the expectant mother and unborn child from any toxic substances. Some women find that their sense of smell is at its most acute during the early days of pregnancy.
• The feeling of having to go to the bathroom urgently is another of the early pregnancy signs.
• Morning sickness or nausea at any other time may also be among the first signs.
• For many women there may be no symptoms at all and the first she may know about a pregnancy is when she takes a test.

The pregnancy tests that are commonly available are those that will tell you whether or not you're pregnant on the day that your period would ordinarily have been due. A hormone called hCG is started to be produced by the body when conception takes place, which, when detected in a pregnancy test, will show a positive result.

Some of the more sensitive pregnancy tests are able to detect a conception even as early as 7 days after a woman has ovulated. However at this stage there may not be enough hCG in the blood stream or the urine for a pregnancy to be detected and a false negative could result.

It is best to wait until 14 days after ovulation or until the first that a period has been missed to take the test. This will yield more accurate results because by this time there is enough hCG present in the system to test positive is conception has taken place.

A Simple Guide to Going Through Infertility Treatments

By: Bruce Rose

If you’ve decided to start treatments at an infertility clinic, you have an exciting road ahead of you. Depending on which treatment you end up using, you could be going through infertility treatments for weeks and even months to come. At times, this can be challenging, emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially.

Here are some simple tips to help you get through your infertility treatments.

Everything starts with choosing the right infertility clinic. Not all clinics are the same, so choose carefully. You want to make sure you choose an experienced physician who has a proven track record of helping patients achieve pregnancy.

You also want to make sure the clinic offers a full range of infertility treatments. Unfortunately, a lot of clinics just offer in-vitro fertilization, but the truth is that this treatment isn’t optimal for everyone. Depending on your age and body makeup, you might see better results with another type of infertility treatment. By choosing a clinic that offers multiple types of infertility treatments, you can get matched with the plan that’s best suited to your unique needs.

Of course, finances are a big issue to consider when seeking infertility treatment. Make sure you understand the costs of your treatments and can afford them.

It’s a good idea to make sure you have all the funds set aside to cover your entire treatment. The last thing you need during your treatments is added stress in the form of financial problems. Having your financial situation squared away from the outset will make things much easier for you as you go through your treatment.

Finally, choosing an infertility clinic is about comfort. You need to feel comfortable with your physician and the staff at the clinic. They should be supportive, understanding, and sensitive to all of your needs.

When going through your treatment, remember that you’re not alone. You may have a partner, close friends and family, and even your team at the clinic who you can count on to support you during your treatment.
Keep the lines of communication open with your partner. The two of you should be working together to get through your treatment. Talk about your concerns, and speak openly about what you’re feeling throughout your treatment. This is essential to keeping your relationship strong and healthy through all this stress.

Lastly, always stay informed. There’s a lot of information out there about infertility treatment. Educate yourself so that you understand exactly what you’re going through. The more you know, the more informed your decisions will be.

Never be afraid to ask your physician questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question. The best physicians will provide you with plenty of information, and they’ll always answer your questions clearly (in terms you can understand) and honestly.

Going through infertility treatment doesn’t have to be difficult. With the tactics explained in this article, you can reduce the stress of treatment and get through it much more easily, leading to improved mental, emotional, physical, and financial health.
